Asmae – Association Soeur Emmanuelle provides market-relevant vocational training and entrepreneurship support for low-income youth in Lebanon, where financial literacy and digital skills education are combined with community development activities.
Asmae is an independent, secular NGO working to support vulnerable children and young people in Lebanon through safe, nurturing, and community-centered approaches. Partnering closely with local organizations, Asmae focuses on protecting children and promoting their education, health, well-being, and long-term inclusion in society. Grounded in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up free from violence and poverty, the organization works alongside families and communities to strengthen local support systems, build youth confidence, and help young people develop the skills needed to shape their own futures with dignity.
With support from the Citi Foundation, Asmae is implementing a youth employment and entrepreneurship initiative for low-income young people in Lebanon, particularly those facing greater barriers to opportunity, including girls and marginalized youth. The program combines market-relevant vocational training with entrepreneurship coaching, financial literacy, and digital skills development including hands-on learning in technical trades, business planning, and basic computer and AI skills. Participants also receive mentoring and psychosocial support to strengthen confidence and resilience, alongside access to internships and small startup grants that help bridge the transition into work or self-employment. By equipping young people with practical, entrepreneurial, and life skills, the initiative aims to reduce youth unemployment while fostering greater economic stability and social cohesion within communities.
