Youth Employability

CAPITAL vzw

Belgium

Project Summary

CAPITAL vzw is leveraging virtual reality, augmented reality, AI and gamification to provide immersive experiences for low-income Belgian youth that help broaden their understanding of industries and career paths.

CAPITAL works to ensure that where a young person grows up does not determine how far they can go. Based in Brussels, the organization was created to address the structural barriers that keep many young people (especially those ages 16 to 25) disconnected from real opportunity, including unequal access to information, professional networks, and clear pathways into work. Through what it calls an “ecosystem of opportunity,” CAPITAL creates a physical and social space where young people can explore the labor market, build connections, and begin shaping futures on their own terms. At the heart of its work is a simple belief: young people are not a risk to be managed, but untapped potential to be recognized and invested in.

With support from the Citi Foundation, CAPITAL is advancing JOBX 2.0, an initiative designed to make the labor market more visible, relatable, and actionable for young people who are often left furthest from opportunity. Through immersive virtual and real-life experiences, participants explore professions, understand career pathways, and gain a clearer sense of where they fit in the world of work. Just as importantly, the program connects that inspiration to action, guiding young people into next steps such as training, mentoring, internships, and jobs through CAPITAL’s wider ecosystem. The result is more informed choices, stronger motivation, and faster transitions into meaningful employment.
