Junior Achievement Romania is supporting low-income youth in Romani a, Ireland, Portugal and Hungary to build skills for the retail sector through technical trainin g, internships and job-shadowing as well as training in skills like communication and digital literacy.
Junior Achievement Romania helps young people build the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to succeed in a global economy. Founded in 1993 and part of the JA Worldwide and JA Europe network, the organization is part of the world’s largest educational movement focused on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial health. In Romania, JA reaches more than 307,000 young people each year through hands-on, project-based learning delivered in partnership with schools, universities, the Ministry of Education and Research, and the business community.
With support from the Citi Foundation, Junior Achievement Romania is leading ARRIVE (Advance Retail Readiness in Vocational Education), an international project designed to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds build the skills needed to enter the labor market—especially in the retail sector. Working with partners in Romania, Ireland, Portugal, and Hungary, the project equips participants with technical, digital, and communication skills, while also creating practical learning experiences that ease the transition from education into employment. By aligning training more closely with the realities of a fast-changing retail sector, ARRIVE aims to strengthen youth employability and reduce the gap between education systems and labor market needs.
